martlakes: Thanks to the 38 caching teams who found this one and lifted their eyes to the fine view. Glad that non-locals were also able to work out the picture, which was always the intention, with a bit of map work and thought.

Geocache Description:

A handy spot for a wonderful view over Kendal to the hills of the central Lakes. Best visited on a clear day. Lift your eyes to the magical view and be inspired. We often pass this way.

The coordinates given are not for the cache itself. (They are in fact a bridge on a small lane over the Windermere railway line – nice spot to visit anyway!)

To find the cache – simply work out where the photograph (see below) was taken.

Visit the picture and find a small box (the arrow should help!) which contains the coordinates of the actual cache. The cache is about 3km from the place in the photo and is an even more impressive view point. It's a good spot for a short walk and refreshment can be found nearby.

Please add a photo of the view to your log if possible - it will be interesting to see the details change with season and weather.

Note: as part of a general review of my caches, and a desire to keep things fresh and creative, I will be archiving some of them this year. This will allow space and time for new ones. Rather than just close them I thought I'd give plenty of notice with a "best before" date.
