Geocache Description:

Musicians' Cache: Forte is located in a hidden preserve near the border of Larchmont and New Rochelle, NY. The listed coordinates are for the parking area.

LARCHMONT, NY--The music world expressed its apathy Sunday at the discovery of an apparent piece of music entitled "The Elusive Treasure." Unemployed actor Sean Fitzgerald, 29, was browsing through a box of books at a garage sale on Forest Avenue in the affluent suburban town when he found what appeared to be a fragment of manuscript tucked between pages 123 and 124 of William Faulkner's classic novel Light in August. Fitzgerald, calling himself "a veteran of Music Appreciation I and II," said of the discovery, "I'm pretty sure it's not Bach. But it might be that John Cage guy."

Area musicologist Rachel P. Klipperhoffer was more candid, who after viewing the manuscript stated, "In no way whatsoever does this piece of "music" resemble the work of any composer worthy of note, pun intended."

Perhaps not. But at least one area resident thought the music might have a hidden meaning. Cellist Slinky Ma quipped, "Either it's a secret code, or it's hands-down the worst piece of music I've ever seen."

OK, Mr. Ma was right--it's a code. Time to see who paid attention in music class!
