Geocache Description:

Enjoy the beautiful views along the George Bass Coastal Walk starting at the Killi Pub (about 1 .5km walk) or just find it as a virtual drive-by. You can get within 120 metres on public roads.

The George Bass Coastal Walk is a 7 Km walk along the cliff tops from Punchbowl to Kilcunda. If you are going to do the whole walk get the details for Killer Punch before you leave.

The area was the site of the Kilcunda Coal Mine which operated in the 1800's. There are still some remnants of the mining operation to be seen. Further along the track you can see an overburden dump from the mine. If you look carefully at the rocks at sea level you can see bits of coal amongst the rock.

Be careful as it can get slippery around the area near GZ and could be a few prickles at times. The cache is a key safe contaniner, you will need to BYO pen.
