Geocache Description:

Short walk on pavements and grass, Stealth required when retrieving the cache.

The old Grammar School of Perth was founded in the 12th century and was the principal grammar school of the old borough of Perth,

Games played by the Grammar School pupils were tennis, golf, and football.

The school practised their archery skills on the South Inch at the Scholars’ Knoll.

The introduction of gunpowder and firearms did away with the need to practise archery, but the scholars continued to parade through Perth on certain days with their bows and arrows which they considered a status symbol.

A Stone on the South Inch marks the spot where the Archery Butts used to be, you can just make out the wording on it.

Also on the South Inch is a playpark for the youngsters, and during the summer months there is boating, crazy golf and trampolines.
