Overlooking the Monksville Dam and Reservoir. There are nice views, and some interesting signs with facts and the history of the Dam.
There is a small parking lot with 30 minute parking, which should be more than enough time to find and log cache. The cache is located close to, but off the roadway and there is NO NEED to stand in the roadway for any reason. Container has a log only and there is no room for a pen, so bring your own. Cache is in plain view, from a particular angle. Seasoned cachers will find quickly while newbies might scratch their noggins for a while. Log a DNF and upon request I'll email you a couple of more hints. Please, no photos or spoilers of cache and have fun searching.
Note (05/22/2015): This cache is not on NJDEP property. It is placed within the 50ft wide roadway right-of-way of Stonetown Road (25ft each side of road centerline). The cache is 14.6ft from the road centerline which means that it is 10.4ft away from the property line for Lot 15, Block 311.01 in Ringwood Boro which is owned by NJDEP. Accordingly, this cache does not require a permit.
