Embudo Triangle #1 Mystery Cache
thoehn: I visited this site today based on other cachers having trouble finding the cache. For those cachers the trouble is not with a missing cache host but poor math skills of the cacher. I easily found the cache and it is in great shape. I have decided to archive this cache based on the fact that users are no longer skilled with the math needed to find this cache. This was a great cache, a great location, and a great cache host. Before I had this cache transferred to me I solved this puzzle and found the cache. Tom

The first of a couple of Geometric teasers. You may need to get out the book for your GPSr as well as that old high school math book, or consult with someone. Cache is very close to a maintained trail. Elevation gain is about 480 feet. Beware nasty flora and fauna. Ok for kids.
The above coordinates are not to the cache but to a suggested free parking area. Points A and B below define the baseline of an Isosceles triangle.
A= N35 06.372, W106 28.814 and
B= N35 06.372, W106 27.315
One of the other two legs is 1609 meters long. The angles between the baseline and the other two sides are equal. The cache is located near the apex of this triangle--the apex is actually at a manmade structure assembled from portions of deceased Sequoia Sempervirens. This structure advertises the group maintaining the quadruped trail upon which it is located. Once you have reached this structure, proceed 102 feet at bearing 110 degrees true to find the cache, a .30 calibre ammo box painted color number 34087 per fed. std. 595A. I notice I have used both metric and english measurement units, so be careful. Oh yes, there are two triangles defined above, you want the one with the apex at the lowest latitude.
