1899 -1935 alueella on ollut kaksi eri sahaa. Talvi- ja jatkosodan
aikana alueella toimi miinapaja.
Alue on ollut vielä 1980 – luvulla aidattuna ja vartioituna
varuskunta-alueena. Mm. Turun Rannikkotykistön aliupseerikoulu on
toiminut alueella. Vielä 70–luvulla panssarivaunut pörräsivät
läheisillä pelloilla ja läheisten asuntoalueiden lapset (mm. me)
leikkivät pelloilla olevissa juoksuhaudoissa.
1990 –luvulla alue siirtyi kaupungin omistukseen ja
piikkilanka-aidat poistettiin. Nykyisin kasarmirakennuksessa
kasvatetaan orkideoita. www.orkidea.fi
Janhuanniemi on kaavoitettu asunto-alueeksi, vaikka alue sopisi
ehkä paremmin monenlaiseen matkailu- ja virkistyskäyttöön.
Myös isommallakin veneellä pääsee kätkölle. Alueella on
kunnostettu betonilaituri.

Before you find the cache, you must calculate the window panes of
the northern wall of the old barracks building. The given
co-ordinates takes you to the parking place where you can calculate
them.
In the 1899 -1935 there have been two different saws on this
area. There was a mine factory during the Winter War and the
Continuation War.
Still in 1970 the tanks drives on near fields and the children
ofnear residential areas (among others, we) play in the trenches on
the fields. The area has been enclosed garrison still 1980 and
around fenced and guarded area.
In 1990 the area moved to the town and the barbed wires were
removed. Nowadays orchids are grown in the barracks building.

Janhuanniemi has been planned as an apartment area, but perhaps
it is better suitable many kinds of tourism and recreation use.
You could also gets to the cache by sea along the marked channel
by bigger vessel. In the area a concrete dock has been
repaired.
