Greetings from Calif. #3: The Not-So-Eternal Flame Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

boulter: I don't seem to have any more replacement containers for this one, so I guess I'll say thanks for 5 years of fun. I believe this was one of the first nanos in NH.

Geocache Description:

A tiny little cache in downtown Manchester.

Greetings from California #1 went missing again, so I decided to archive it and replace it with a new one nearby. This one is much smaller, but in plain sight.

Apparently this nearby structure is an eternal flame memorial where "eternal" is defined as a short period of time a long time ago. The cache is not on the tower though.

Here's the premise, as from GFC #1:

It's interesting to see how the style of hides differs by region. While I grew up in Manchester, I now live (and do most of my caching) in the Bay Area of California.

In New Hampshire there are lots of nice big ammo boxes in the woods which is great. In California we have those too, but we also have lots of urban micros which seem uncommon here. Urban micros are fun in their own way. You can rack up a bunch of them quickly and they often require you to practice your stealth searching in public areas. So I thought I'd send a greeting or two and bring a few urban micros to Manchester. These are fairly typical hides where I live, but they sure stumped me the first time I encountered them. Good luck!
