Geocache Description:

At some point the separate letterbox and geocache located here were merged by a player or staff into a single find. The original containers have been replaced with a singular one and someone even placed a geocache sticker on it! I have no clue how, why or when this happened, but I have decided to let it be for now. As such, it does not blend in as before and is much easier to spot than the original. Nevertheless, the location remains a very fun place to visit, grab a drink and snack, learn about K-town and listen to some fantastic entertainment. Enjoy!

This is the first in a series of caches placed in and around the Knoxville area. This series will take you to some of the more cultural and historical landmarks that are significant to Knoxville and Knox County. The cache is only available during the following hours: Monday through Friday: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm Saturday: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm Sunday: 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm. Free parking is available at N35 58.021 W083 55.159. Look for the "Visitor Parking" signs.

Your first stop in Knoxville should be the downtown Visitor Center. It's no ordinary "grab-a-brochure-and-go" kind of place. There's the studio of Americana and roots radio station WDVX, live lunchtime music with "Blue Plate Special," gourmet coffee, fresh-baked goods, the finest locally made gifts and more.

Each weekday at 12 noon, a live bluegrass set (the Blue Plate Special) is broadcast on WDVX from the stage just inside the building. The public is welcome and highly encouraged to attend.

Discover a fun, friendly place plus all the information and advice you need to make the most of your visit.

In addition to housing Knoxville's Visitor Center, One Vision Plaza is the headquarters for the Knoxville Tourism & Sports Corporation and the Knoxville Tourism Alliance (KTA).

The renovated building was originally built in the early 1900's. Its most recent tenant was a Wendy's restaurant, but the structure has been vacant since 1991. The property was acquired by the KTSC from the Tennessee Valley Authority.

The design of One Vision Plaza was conceived and executed by the Knoxville firm Johnson Architecture. The designers transformed a traditional, linear layout into a concept utilizing curving walls and features that echo the curving lines of the KTSC / Knoxville logo and its sun, mountain and water design.

The given coords place you at the front door; you must enter the building and explore to locate the box inside. It is not hard to find, as it is sitting right out in the open and not camoed in anyway.

There is room for small-to-medium trade items and there is a logbook and pen.

The Director of the Visitor's Center has given permission to place the cache here. In fact, she was the one who decided where the box would be placed. After finding the cache, please be sure to thank those working there for allowing the hide inside their establishment.

Enjoy and happy hunting!
