Geocache Description:

Inspired by the scale model solar system at the Museum of Science in Boston, this cache uses the main dome of the Naismith Hall of Fame to be a scale model sun. The planet caches are at the appropriate scale distance. Even at scale, Western Mass proved too small to hold the solar system.

With the Dome as our Sun, Uranus would be a ball 4 ½ feet in diameter, orbiting at 47 to 48 miles from the sun. Uranus has a very faint, thin ring system, and over twenty small moons, most grain of sand sized in our scale model. (The scale is 140' = 1,000,000 miles)

Cache is a short walk from a parking area very close to the Guilford / Vernon town line.

Cache is a small plastic container. Thanks to BevanQ for creating this new cache after the old Uranus location became unusable.
