Geocache Description:

Off the Orange Trail at Tarrywile Park. A little steep.

... in San Francisco ... a big chunk of it in Marin County, just north of the Golden Gate Bridge (and home to Tiburon, Sausalito, Stinson Beach, Muir Woods, Mount Tamalpais, Point Reyes, and the less touristy San Quentin prison ...)

Marin has a lively culture, music and food scene and some of the most beautiful and wild hiking trails and beaches and of course the nearby wine country. You can't help but leave a piece of your heart behind ...

This cache is for sharing items representing things that warm the heart - even better if it relates to anything listed above (beaches, hiking, music, wine, California.)

Before you leave this cache, just a wee bit of history. Just further up the ORANGE TRAIL (depending on how you came by this cache) is Hearthstone Castle, a beautiful structure built in the 1890's that is in need of repair. Not too far away from here is the house that Charles Ives, Danbury's native composer, grew up in - hence the name of this cache. You are actually hiking one side of the ORANGE TRAIL loop - the other side of the loop will hopefully become part of the IVES TRAIL, which is a proposed 14 mile greenway designed to connect Bethel, Danbury and Ridgefield in the near future.

Please note that this cache is not easily accessed from the road (no parking) and it's best to enjoy the hike.

To start, I've included the following goodies:

"California Dreamin'" CD by the Mamas and Papas
Pink heart keychain
SF tie-died coffee mug
SF shot glass
SF Zagat Restaurant Guide
SF magnet
SF postcards
Incense
Jade bracelet
Wine cork for leftover wine (what's that?)
CA wine country map
Seashells and sand
Matchbooks from 3 of my favorite places in Marin
Tarrywile Park Map
Logbook and pen

Enjoy!
