Geocache Description:

CAR PARK at N53 27.063 W006 57.282

Just to the west of the village of Longwood Co.Meath is a car park serving the Royal canal. As you walk up to the tow path, the first thing uou meet is a harbour. In high summer this is a popular bathing place.

Heading west you cross over the first of two aquaducts where the canal crosses the Longwood Clonard road. Not far from this is the 2nd over the river Boyne. This is a great bit of engineering, which is well worth looking at from below. If you are into fishing the canal is good for coarse fish. You need a permit to fish the Boyne.

From now on you are in GPS mode. The cache is a mile from the car park. It is in a plastic container with quite a lot of goodies.

This part of the Royal canal is one of the prettyiest. It is a lovely place for a picnic event cache etc.
