Geocache Description:

On an island - You'll need a boat!

St Herbert apparently lived on the island in the 7th Century. Pilgrims would travel from the nearby Friar's Crag to visit this reclusive holy man.

Visitors might know the island better as Owl Island from the Tale of Squirrel Nutkin by Beatrix Potter.

If you don't own a boat they can be hired from the Keswick Launch Co, Derwentwater Marina, Nichol End Marina or Platyplus or perhaps a friendly local will carry you across!!

Note that the terrain rating reflects the fact you will need a boat to reach this cache, the island itself is very low and flat.
