fergus pals: I guess they got confused. The ammo ended up on the wrong side of the can. Kaboom! I wonder is the can is intact in the mess.

Geocache Description:

Wave of Light Cache is a short hike through a lightly treed forest of oak, birch maple and white pine.

On March 03, 2005 four RCMP officers were gunned down in Mayerthorpe, Alberta. This cache is dedicated to these officers and all others that serve to protect the people of Canada.

The families of these slain officers are calling for Canadians to create a Wave of Light across the nation on October 03 by turning on their front porch lights.

This geocache has a small light stick in it. Turn it on and write a small prayer or memento in the log book to the RCMP officers that died violently while protecting us.

Feel free to remember those who died serving our country in the great wars, in peace keeping, or in law enforcement. The cache will continue to remind us and the families so their deaths will be not be forgotten. The cache is also the start of the Wave of Light Travel Bug whose mission is to travel to a cache near Mayerthorpe. We want the families of these men to know their deaths have touched all of us across this great country.

The only trade items are a candle or light. If you have neither, please take a candle anyway in remembrance and light it at home. Be sure to turn the light stick off when you are done and return it to the cache.

There is no trail to the cache. If you park on the Kearney Lake road, you will find it fairly easy to pick your way zig zag to the cache location. You can follow the gravel road just up from the parking spot and cut into the cache when the feeling strikes you. The surroundings are pleasant and virtually garbage free. There is a small peaceful ledge just above the cache by about 20 meters to sit and dangle your feet and write a prayer in the logbook.

Please replace cache as found.

note:This cache is moderately winter friendly and if you are equipped. Deep snow would require digging.
Original contents: Logbook, candles, light stick and light stick travel bug.
