A Picture Paints A Thousand Locations (Bucks) Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Just Roger: This one is now well past its 12th birthday so is almost a teenager. This type of puzzle is getting to be well known now (I think it was the first or second of its type in the UK when it was placed by Kiwi Gary) Archiving it to clear the area for others to use.

Thanks to all who have visited and for the favourite points awarded

The above co-ordinates are for the car park of College wood, Nash. These aren't the co-ordinates for the cache. So please don't spend time in the car park looking for a cache.

You will need to work out where this cache is at home, before heading out to the treasure hunt.

Throughout history man had looked for ways to transmit messages securely, in ancient Greece messages were written on the shaved head of a messenger.

After the hair grew back the messenger was sent to the intended recipient of the message and after a severe haircut, the message was revealed.

This type of message transmission is called "steganography".

This method suffers from some fundamental weakness obviously if the messenger was searched the message could be revealed. These weaknesses led to the creation of "cryptography", where the message is encrypted with a cipher before being released.

Thanks to Simon Singh's Book, the cracking codebook for the above information.

Great thanks to Jonathan Plowe of the Woodland trust for help and permission in placing this cache.
