Geocache Description:

Easy cache marking the gateway to Santa Teresa Park

Santa Teresa Park has lots of caches. This cache will show you where the main entrance to the park is. This is a fairly easy cache. You can't park on the streets near the cache, but a few hundred feet away. (Watch out for the "no parking" signs.) This is often a busy area, so watch out for muggles when you search for, retrieve, and replace the cache. Then you can hike into the park if you're going for the lower caches or don't want to pay for parking at the Puebelo Area. The closest caches are on the Ohlone and Nature trails. If you go up Bernal Road, you can eventually reach the Pueblo Area, which is in the heart of the park and the starting point for many caches.

This is a sign-only micro-cache. Bring your own pen. Please replace the cache where it can't be readily seen.

Update 1/14/06
While this really isn't a hazardous location if you're careful, there have been some close calls, so I moved this directly across the street to a safer location. Unfortunately, it's also more exposed to muggles, so heads up. I put a pointer cache in the previous location with the new coordinates.

Update 8/7/10
Too many complaints about wasps in the last location, so I moved it to a less wasp-friendly spot, though it may attract other critters. Watch where you put your hands, but at least you won't have to do a blind grab. Make sure the cache is out of sight when you re-hide it. Watch your step.

Update 3/30/12
The cache was muggled or eaten by pigs. I replaced it closer to its previous location, but in a manner more like its last incarnation. The hint still applies. You can reach it without hopping the fence.

Update 9/20/13
Cache was muggled again or cleaned up by park maintenance. I moved it to the other side of the road again, but in a spot where you have a clear view of the cars coming down the road. Watch out for cars, as well as golf balls and golfers.

Update 1/6/21
Cache may have disappeared. The nearby vegetation has grown, and it may be under it. I replaced the cache with a camo'd pill bottle. It contains a pencil.
