Geocache Description:

A long, but not too difficult walk up to the second highest point in the Campsie hills..

Park opposite Todholes farm on the B818 at the western end of the Carron Valley reservoir, take a map and follow the forest track. The last 500ft or so of the climb is clear of the trees.

Near the top of the hill is the ruin of a crashed aircraft, locally rumoured to have been a German wartime bomber, but which we are told is actually a Firefly which crashed in the 1950's.

On a clear day the views from the top are truly stunning.

The total walk from where we parked took us just under 1 hour and 20 minutes up and 55 minutes down. If you're still not sure whether to go for it, this is what our reasonably fit nine year old thought when we first hid this cache...
She had just plodded her way right to the top, needing frequent chocolate fudge stops for encouragement on the way, when she announced: "I'm SO pleased I made it up, I would have been really disappointed to have given up half way now that I know what the views are like from here - it's brilliant!"
