Geocache Description:

During the time period popularized by movies such as "Grease" and "American Graffiti", this bridge was dedicated on Valentine's Day, 1959, as 101 couples kissed to mark the tradition of the Kissing or Friendship Bridge. It was the first covered bridge built in over 90 years in New Jersey. The other one in NJ is . pic

Covered bridges were built mainly in the days of horse and buggy. There was no wood preservative then, so wooden bridges were covered to protect against rotting. All covered bridges were known as "kissing bridges" as it was popular for couples to stop for a few intimate moments in an open carriage without being noticed.

The cache is in a small container and holds only very small items. Trade small coins. Please do not stop near the bridge to look for the cache, as the road is too narrow there. Park about 400' north where the road is wider. Bridge is officially known as Scarboro covered bridge(named after the developer), but I know a lady who is in her 70s and has lived in south Jersey for most of her life and she refers to it as the "kissing bridge"...
