In the small village of Chanaz, not far from the city of Aix-les-Bains and the Lac du Bourget, you can find a 19th century oil mill. The mill has been listed a historical monument. There are only two left in France. You will be able to discover its scoop wheel (6.30m in diameter) and its water reserve of a few 2000 m3. When the mill is in use you can smell the oil all over the village.
Enjoy the village of Chanaz, with its narrow streets. There are several ways to discover the area from here. For instance, you can make a lovely boat trip through the Canal de Savière.
The cache is a white 35mm film canister. It's hidden close to the old mill. There's only a logbook inside; bring your own pen! GPS reception can be poor due to the trees and bushes.
