Manor Park
"Larchmont Lark" is located in about as beautiful a neighborhood
as you'll see. Multi-million dollar homes are everywhere you look,
the landscaping is flawless, the cars flashy, and the residents,
well...loaded!
Fortunately there's a public park the rest of us can enjoy.
Manor Park, despite its curious absence from Mapquest, is located
at the end of Larchmont Avenue. The park is an absolute gem
offering panoramic views of Long Island Sound across to Long
Island, two gazebos for seaside relaxation, paved paths, plenty of
rocks for climbing on, and a whole roll (or memory card)'s worth of
photo ops. Just don't bring a picnic (they're quite strict about
that). Dogs are permitted as long as they're leashed and cleaned up
after. Hours are dawn to dusk so no night caching, please! Be aware
that there is no parking lot; please park on one of the side
streets where legal.
My thanks to "The Pickles" of www.letterboxing.org for
graciously allowing me to share their letterbox. Interestingly
enough, I found the letterbox by chance while scouting out cache
locations. It was such an ideal spot that I had to share it with
you, dear cachers.
Enjoy the park, and my town! (Don't be too intimidated; I live
in an apartment building near 95!) Watch out for muggles, and please replace as
found--if this cache/letterbox goes MIA, two owners mourn!
Have fun and cache on!
