Geocache Description:

This is my second cache with a Roman theme, but this time in a Roman location, the Roman town of Venta Icenorum in Caistor St.Edmunds a few miles south of Norwich.

Venta was built after the defeat of the Iceni in the first century AD and was occupied until the end of Roman Britain.During dry spells the layout of buildings and roads can be seen as crop marks within the town walls.Venta has been open to the public for a few years and parking can be found at N52*34.871 E001*17.609.The site is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and admission is free.
The cache contains Roman coins and a log book.Feel free to take a coin as your prize and if you have the time why not take one of the circular walks round the town.
