Der Rötelstein ist ein prächtiger Findling des Linthgletschers mitten im Wald in der Nähe des Weilers Rothenfluh. Seinen Namen erhielt der ca. 10 m lange und 2 m hohe Findling wegen seiner rötlichen Farbe. Der Stein dürfte vor rund 120000 Jahren mit den Eismassen des Walensee-Linth-Rheingletschers hierer verfrachtet worden sein.
Um den Cache zu finden benötigst du folgende Angaben.
An der Position N 47° 29.887 E 008° 37.864 findest du gelbe Wegweiser. Zähle auf den Vorderseiten der Wegweisern folgende Dinge:
Anzahl der Spitzen = a
Anzahl der Wegweiser (Anzahl befestigte Aluplatten) = b
Anzahl der Autobushaltestellen Symbole = c
Anzahl der Bahnhofssymbole = d
An der Position N 47° 29.773 E 008° 37.792 nochmals gelbe Wegweiser. Von diesen benötigst du nochmals Informationen. Dieses Mal Vorder- und Rückseite anschauen!
Anzahl der Autobushaltestellen Symbole = e
Anzahl der Bahnhofssymbole = f
Anzahl der Schrauben = g
Anzahl Buchstaben der in einem Wort vorkommenden Farbe = h
Und nun frohes Rechnen für die Endkoordinaten:
u = c + d - b
v = [(f+h) * d + e] mod (c + e + f)
w = h * f - d
x = g* f + d - f * b
y = e + d
z = g * b – e + a
Kontrolle: u+v+w+x+y+z = 34
Setze die errechneten Werte in den folgenden Koordinaten ein. N 47° 29.uvw E 008° 37.xyz
Achtung ab spätestens dem Waldrand im Osten beginnt das Naturschutzgebiet. Mit Koordinaten kleiner als E 008° 37.910 solltet Ihr auf der sicheren Seite sein.
An der Position N 47°29.741 E 008° 38.072 hat es eine Parkiermöglichkeit. Es hat keinen direkten Weg zum Rötelstein da sich unmittelbar bei der Parkiermöglichkeit ein Naturschutzgebiet befindet. Folge der Strasse nach Untermettmenstetten N 47° 29.935 E 008° 37.943. Achtung auf der Strasse sind die Autofahrer ziemlich schnell unterwegs. Mit dem öffentlichen Verkehr erreicht ihr den Rötelstein vom Bahnhof Pfungen (S41) oder von der Post Oberembrach (Bus 520) aus. Er liegt am Wanderweg von Pfungen nach Oberembrach. Für die Wanderung von Pfungen nach Oberembrach ist eine Dauer von 1h 20min angegeben. Von Pfungen aus dürfte man ca. 50 min zum Rötelstein haben.

The Roetelstein is a magnificent erratic block of the Linth glacier near Rothenfluh. It is in the middle of the forest, approximately 10 m long and 2 m high and has its name from its reddish color. The stone came to its current place approximately 120000 years ago with the ice masses of the Walensee Linth Rhein glacier. To find the cache you need some more information.

Attention the nature preservation starts at least at the edge of the forest in the east. With coordinates less than E 008° 37.910 you should be on the safe side. At the position N 47°29.741 E 008° 38.072 is a parking possibility. There is no direct way to the Rötelstein because next to the parking possibility is a nature reserve. Follow the road to Untermettmenstetten (N 47° 29.935 E 008° 37.943). Attention the car drivers drive here quite fast. With public transportation you can reach the Rötelstein from the railway station Pfungen (S41) or from the post office Oberembrach (BUS 520). It is on the hiking trail from Pfungen to Oberembrach. It takes about 1h 20min from Pfungen to Oberembrach. From Pfungen you can reach the Rötelstein in approx. 50 min.
