Top of the Incline Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Kealia: I hiked up today to check on this one and alas, it is gone. There is significantly less brush/cover here than when I placed this cache years ago.

RIP Top of the Incline
Born: 7/3/2005

Aged: 16 years, 25 days

My only regret is that I don't have the logbook to look through to read some of the early logs.
When I started caching and placed this cache, there were very few in this park and we typically took breaks at caches, wrote long entries, etc. It's too bad I don't have that logbook now.

Geocache Description:

Elevation: 1,002 feet

A cammo'd ammo box well within Nisene Marks State Park. About 5 1/2 miles round trip from the Porter Family Picnic Area (further if the winter gate is closed).

Should be a very easy one to find although you will be in a spot where bikers and joggers take a break so beware. Read the sign at the bottom the incline to get perspective of where the train used to be. Beware of bikers coming down the hill at high speeds. Enjoy the hike.

There are a few sprigs of Poison Oak near the cache (where around here isn't there?) but it's easily avoidable.

NOTE: This is a State Park so there is an daily entrance fee (currently $6.00) or an Annual Pass required for entrance. For those not familiar with how to get to the park itself: Turn at the poorly marked entrance off Soquel Ave @ 36º 58.625 / 121º 54.144 and follow the road to the entrance station.
