Geocache Description:

Level gravel walk along a footpath with no need to leave the path to venture onto the salt marsh. There are lovely views across to the Isle of Wight and out to Hurst Castle. Limited parking is available at N50º 43.058, W001º 34.399

This is part of the Solent Way Series placed by Nobby.nobbs and Kitty Hawk and though intended to be done separately they can be done as part of a longer trek.

The cache is a small tupperware container with all the usual swaps, placed very close to the edge of the footpath so some discretion and gardening gloves will be needed to avoid it being muggled.

If you wish to venture to Hurst Castle you can either walk from a pay and display carpark at Milford-on-Sea, (beware it's quite a walk over shingle all the way) or during summer you can go to N50º 43.307 W001º 33.981 in Keyhaven and catch a ferry over.

The salt marsh is a nature reserve managed by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust and the footpath along the seabank is a good spot for birdwatching. Previous cachers have noted Godwits, Curlew, Dunlin, Redshanks, Turnstones, Knots, Little Egret.
