cervisvenator: Denne cacheoppføringen har stått deaktivert i over tre måneder, vesentlig lenger enn de «generelt opptil 4 uker» som er nevnt i retningslinjene. Ut fra de nyeste loggene er uklart om/når denne blir aktiv igjen. Derfor er denne cacheoppføringen nå arkivert, slik at andre nå kan legge en cache i området.

A small cache with a view, by an old bunker and a benchmark.
This cache can be found just a few metres from the road, so it should be easily available, at least when there is no snow. Please take care though; the rock might be slippery when wet, and there is a small trench near the cache.
If the weather is decent you can look down on the iron ore shipping facility, up to the upper cable car station of Narvik Fjellheis, and maybe spot Bjerkvik, further into the fjord.
The cache is hid near an old bunker, and if you can picture the place without trees, you will have no problem understanding why this place was chosen for a fortification. There is ample opportunity to get great views from other places in this area. I recommend going down to town again a different way than you got up, to get the most out of it. There is also a nearby bus stop (bus #17 - Skistua/Fossestua).
Close to the cache there is also an easy to find benchmark on the national network - you could check your GPS here :)
The benchmark is named "N09T0230 - Fjellheim" and the benchmark register says the following about it:
Position (UTM W33) 7593039.972 599907.388 - accuracy of 0,03m (xy).
Elevation is 175.897m - accuracy of 0,030m.
Its described as being placed "on solid rock, about 25m w of the road by the intersection of Fjellvegen and Fjellheim. About 30m ne of bunker."
The original contents of the cache:
- schnapps glass
- really cheap multitool (with flashlight - wohoo)
- a couple of fridge magnets
- a swedish 1SEK coin
- and ofcourse a logbook and pencil
Note: Judging by the comments it is wise to bring the hint with you, because a) the hint really does not make sense if you are not there, and b) you might need it.
