Geocache Description:

This is not a cache and dash and it will probably take much of the day. Most of the trail can be accessed by bicycle, and parking, refreshments and toilets can be found at some of the key points. There is still a lot of walking to be done and one critical point can only be reached using steps and a neglected and overgrown footpath. It is possible to do it all on foot in which case expect a round trip of up to 20km. If you cycle, please remember that public footpaths, which must be used to access some of the cache, should not be cycled.

In the beginning was the word, and the word was the third of the three that can be found at the starting location. Armed with this word, you can boldly set about finding your goal and enjoy a day in the Berkshire countryside.

Apart from the main cache, which is a Tupperware-type container, there are two subsidiary caches - one 35mm film container and one Groundspeak micro - each of which contains one part of the coordinates where the main cache may be found.

Subsidiary cache 1 (SC1) is located at:
North CA°G(E+F).(N+L-G)(F+G+A)B
West HHD°(J+L-M)(N-K).(M+N-E)(C-F)D

Subsidiary cache 2 (SC2) is located at:
North (V*3)°U(S-W).(J*P+T+Z)(U-T)
West YYQ°RJ.S(X-Z)(T+Q)

Naturally you have to do some work to interpret these coordinates, and these are set out below. Here goes:

Before setting off, please always check that you have a decoded version of the current cipher. We always post a note if the cipher changes.

That's it. You won't need reminding that OS Explorer 159 is essential. What are you waiting for? Have fun, you know you want to!
