In the Novohradské hory (Newcastle mountains) beyond the village, 929 m. above sea-level.
Pohorí na Šumave bylo založeno jako sklárská hut v 17.stol. a cca 1 století tak fungovala. Pocet obyvatel se zvyšoval a v letech 1783-1791 byl postaven kostel Panny Marie Dobré rady. V roce 1946 byli odsunuti nemectí rodáci a postupne docházelo k vylidnování obce a bourání domu. V roce 1978 zanikla obec úplne. Je zájem na její obnove. Tesne pred rekonstrukcí polozboreného kostela v roce 1999 se zrítil zbytek jeho strechy a byl proto jen zakonzervován a v jeho oprave se nepokracuje.

Pohorí na Šumave (Mountains on the Sumava) was founded as a glass works village in the 17. century and it served like that about one century. The number of the residents increased and in the years of 1783-1791 the church of the Holy Virgin of the Good Advice was built. In the 1946 where the german natives banished and it became to depopulation of the village and the abating of the houses. In the 1978 the village died out totally. Now there is an interest to its recovery. Close before the reconstruction of the semi-ruined church in the year of 1999, the rest of the roof fell down and therefore it was only preserved and the works on its reconstruction has been stopped.
