This cache is located in a big beautiful park on the ocean called Fort Foster in Kittery Maine. There is a fee to get it in in the summer. It's a little too expensive for a quick cache and dash, so take your time, pack a picnic lunch, go swimming and spend the afternoon exploring the park. The mosquitos can be vicious at the actual cache location in the summer, so we put some bug spray in the box. Use what you need and please leave it for the next group of geocachers. Check for ticks on the way out as well. The coordinates will have you bushwhacking straight through dense woods UNLESS you use one of these routes to get to the cache: 1) There is a trail head to the left of the entrance gate along side the chain link fence. You'll be on clear trails most of the way but you will have to step off the trail a short distance to get to ground zero. 2) Enter the park through the gate and about 100 yards down on your left is a dirt road that you can drive down with a sign pointing to Rocky Beach. Turn left at the end of that road and follow it to the parking area for Rocky Beach. There is a trail right near the parking area. 3)There is a trail that follows the shoreline all the way to the side trail that will take you to the cache location. The park closes in the fall but you can still park outside the gate and walk or ride a bike in. It's a great place to run your dog as well, but be sure to clean up after them or we might lose that privilege. There are restrooms, showers and drinking water available in the summer. This is a trash in/trash out park.
