THE ABOVE CO ORD IS FOR REF ONLY AND IS NOT THE FINAL CO ORDINATE These should have been collected by noting part co ordinates from the six caches under the tital King Arthur Man or Myth? The above is a layby off the A39 just after Camelford and just before the B3314 to Slaughterbridge.
King Arthur's final battle, (The Battle of Camlann) took place beside a river in Cornwall between Arthur and his nephew (or son) Mordred (who had tried to grab both Arthur's crown and wife when Arthur was away in battle on the continent) Arthur was filled with great mental anguish that Mordred had escaped him so often and charged off to Slaughterbridge where Mordred was waiting for him.
During the ensuing battle Mordred was slain but not before he had fatally wounded the King. Arthur was borne away to the Isle of Avalon where it was expected that he would be healed of his wounds someday and return to his people.
It is possible that because The Lady of the Lake had imprisioned Merlin he was unable to protect Arthur in the battle.
The Lady of the Lake was obliged to reclaim Excalibur that as we know was hurled back into the misty waters of Dozmary Pool (see King Arthur Man or Myth Dozmary Pool)
