2006 FALL
PICNIC
SEPTEMBER 9,
2006
BROWN COUNTY STATE
PARK
What can I say, the Planning
Team did a great job! It was a pleasure working with everyone
on the team. Obviously, there are some very creative minds
within this group. Thanks to the team for making planning the
weekend so much fun!
Of course, the picnic wouldn't
have been a success without all the geocachers who attended.
It was nice to meet all of you. Thanks for
attending!
In the near future, we will be
sending you a survey on the picnic and caching in Indiana.
Please help us out by filling out the survey, offering suggestions,
etc. This is your way of helping plan future
events!
Thanks for coming! See
you on the trail!

News form the 2005
Fall Picnic Planning Team
Thanks to everyone who has registered for the picnic. We have
loads of things planned for the weekend including 35 new caches in
the area. We can't wait to see you there!
Saturday's main event starts with registration at Clifty Shelter at
9:00 a.m. Activities for the day include a kid's cache, a
Geo-Concentration Tournament, event caches, raffles, a silent
auction, a night caching hike and of course, our premier event,
Geo-Survivor.
Keep in mind, that there is a limited number of participants in
both Geo-Concentration and
Geo-Survivor.
Pre-registration is required.
A Magellan Explorist 600 GPS will be raffled at $5 per chance and
another one will be part of our Silent Auction. These
Explorists retails for $450 each. Bidding for the Silent
Auction will begin at $200 so bring your cash! All proceeds
will aid in defraying to the cost of the picnic.
The Saturday night caching hike should be beautiful with just a
flashlight; however, the hike would really be enhanced by putting a
red filter on your flashlight if you have one. Hot dogs and
buns will be furnished for this event. Don't forget to bring
a drink!
Here's what you need to bring:
- Chili and drinks for the chili dump
- For Saturday, everyone brings their own meat, buns
and
drinks along with a
side dish (with service spoon) to share.
A grill will be ready for
your use. Foil, hot pads, spatulas,
tongs, plates, napkins,
utensils and condiments will be
provided.
- There are a good number of picnic tables at the shelter,
but
you may want to bring along
lawn chairs.
- Cash for raffles and silent auction
- A contribution for the prize giveaway
- Flashlight and drinks for the night cache
- Travel bugs
So, gather up your goodies, fill up your gas tank, hope for good
weather and head for Clifty Falls. We will be there waiting
for you!
