Dune Death March Oasis Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

-Rusty-: Greetings,

While Geocaching.com would like to continue to hold the location for you, doing so blocks other cachers from placing caches in the area. We feel that this cache has been disabled for a period of time exceeding what is reasonable for the area, and thus I regretfully must archive it.

If you are able to get out and replace the cache, simply drop me a note and let me know the GC waypoint number of the cache or better yet, the URL of the cache page. I will be more than happy to take a look at it to see if it is still is within the guidelines of the Geocaching.com website for cache placement and posting.

Thank you,

Rusty...

Geocache Description:

This cache is a .6 mile hike over the hilly, sandy dunes of Silver Lake. Bring water. Park in the State Park parking lot south of the "dune buggy" staging area.

This is our first geocache hide. We placed this cache on a hike over the dunes while spending a week at Grace Youth Camp. Initial contents include West Side Christian Calculators and pens. We hope to inspect / refresh this cache each year on our annual "Death March" from camp to lake Michigan and back. We hope this cache doesn't get burried by the shifting sands like the dozeen cottages at the end of N. Shore Drive did a several years ago!

9/17/05 *** UPDATE ***
This cache permit has finally been approved by Silver Lake State Park, and the listing goes live today! At least the cooler weather makes this a nice trek. I hope the dune has not completely covered the cache by now!

First finder will find "Kermit The Cache Tramp" (TBFBF3), which who was under our van seat from April to May since our trip with "MeekSeekers" to Florida, then stuck in this unlisted cache since last May! Please check that he's still alive and well, and move him along the way!
