Geocache Description:

The geocache is located near one of Fort Worth's favorite places, Coyote Drive-In! Residents of Fort Worth now have a "new" and exciting way to enjoy movies with a modern drive-in movie theater in Panther Island. A beloved favorite of times past, the drive-in offers its visitors a new twist on an old tradition. Located right off the Trinity Trails, Coyote is equipped with three screens and plays first-run movies in digital format. In addition to the car drive-in, the area can accommodate theater-goes without cars as well, thanks to a pavilion complete with fans and misters.

This geocache is a part of the TRWD Trinity Trails Geocaching Adventure which takes you on a journey throughout the entire trail system to discover hidden gems, historically significant locations and some of the most popular spots along the trails. It’s perfect for families, geocaching newbies and seasoned “cachers” alike.

ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION:
I love music!

A huge, wide area of the metroplex is included as the hiding territory of the sandbass clan. However, there is one area that has so far been denied these hides. Fort Worth. The royal ones do not hide west of 820.

With a nod from the sandbassking, I am hiding caches in the Fort Worth area, with cache names and pages following the same form as their hides, that being song titles and lyrics.

Now, song lyric caches will extend the breadth of the entire metroplex, from the eastern edge over to the western limits.

The songs I select will be ones that have had impact in my life. If there existed a soundtrack for my life, past and present, these songs would be included.

This song, titled "Run Riot", is performed by Def Leppard.

The mid-80s.

I was in my early-20s. I was out of school, and I had a cool job that paid pretty good for the time. I drove around in a red Camaro, and I was always looking for fun. And Def Leppard was in the stack of music I listened to.

I have heard some people call Def Leppard a "hair band". I don't think of them as a hair band at all. I guess it is how I define "hair band". Def Leppard belts out songs that are energetic, powerful, and well-executed. To me, one of the characteristics of a "hair band" is that the music they produce is boring, overly targeted, and generally bad. If a band plays good music, even if the members have long hair, then it is not a hair band in my book. My opinion.

Examples of what I consider hair bands are Poison, Cinderella, Motley Crue (no offense to anyone reading this who is a fan of those bands). I mean, I just can’t get into songs in which the band members yell stuff like "Hey Vince!" "What?" "Check out the legs on that chick!" "Whoa dude." And the music is about as original and meaningful as the yelling. To me, the music of these bands is just sugary, boppy, mega-commercialized cr** (uh, no offense intended for those of you out there who are hyper-sensitive to being offended).

Back to Def Leppard.

At the height of the band's popularity, the drummer lost an arm in a car wreck. But that did not stop him, and the dude figured out ways to continue to play in the band with one arm. He continues today. A one-armed rock drummer. You gotta be impressed by that. The album "Hysteria", one of their most successful, is one-arm-percussed.

The albums "Pyromania" and "Hysteria" pretty much lived in my tape player during those years. They have a number of other albums, which I never bought. But I wore out those two. One of my favorite songs is this one, "Run Riot".

Now, Def Leppard is doing a really cool thing. They are touring the U.S. with Bryan Adams, but they are playing strictly in minor-league baseball stadiums across our country. Is that cool or what?

I like Bryan Adams too. One of my favorites of his songs is "When You're Gone". That one is actually a duet. A really good one.

And yes, they are coming to Fort Worth to play at LaGrave Field, home of the Fort Worth Cats. They will be here on 11 June.

I plan to go if I can (in town and all that). I haven't decided on whether I am going to buy a ticket and go inside, or just ride my bike down to the levee beside the ballpark, with a lawn chair and some beers, and enjoy the sights and sounds from an alternate perspective.

This geocache is hidden near the levee and nearby where I might sit and listen to the concert. It is not hard to find, but there is a little terrain issue at the end. Nothing big.

I leave you with the lyrics to "Run Riot", performed by Def Leppard.

Living by the law is a bloody necessary bore,
Everybody are you getting what you're looking for?
Living by the rule is something that you gotta do!
But does it matter if we break a rule or two?

Get up, break out, don't be the odd one out,
Living on the edge, I'm trying to keep a level head.

Every morning it's a bummer getting out of bed,
Same old story does a nothing ever ever change?
Yeah, they lock me up and then they let me out again

Get up!
Break out!
Don't be the odd one out.
Come on, it's alright, we're hot tonight.

You better run,
Run riot!
You gotta run,
Run riot!
You know the time has come,
Run, run riot!
I mean everyone,
Run, yeah, run riot!
Oh, gotta riot babe.

Going through the motions, desperation guaranteed,
Whoa, get f-f-frustrated easily,
Pedal to the metal, senses working overtime,
Hey, gonna fight to the finish baby,
Draw the line!

Run, run riot!
You gotta run,
Run riot!
You know the time has come.
Run, run riot!
I mean everyone,
Run, yeah, run riot!
Speak to me!

They lock me up, they let me out but I'm up and running,
I scream and shout.

You better run,
Run riot!
You gotta run, Run riot!
You know the time has come,
Run, run riot!
Come one, run with me.
Run, run riot!
Run, run riot!

Hey!
I'll take you from your misery,
Come on! Stick with me!
