At the posted coordinates you will find a pair of National Trust and Heritage Victoria listed buildings designed by Australia's most prominent architect, writer and social commentator of the 1950s and 60s, Robin Boyd. Boyd designed a number of significant buildings, the majority being residential, in Melbourne and other states and was a significant contributor to the development of Melbourne modern residential style; low pitch or flat roofed, wide eaves, exposed rafters and large areas of glass.
Boyd designed this pair of buildings in 1952 as a Supermarket and residence. This design was unique in that it used a monolithic method of concrete construction. By using this ctesiphon system of construction, walls and roof are formed as one self supporting unit. The technique involved concrete poured onto a form made of timber arches at four foot centres with hessian suspended between. Two other examples of this technique were built in Melbourne (not Boyd designs) but both have since been demolished.
Robin Boyd was part of the famous Boyd family (a cousin of Arthur Boyd) and was also key figure in establishing Victoria's National Trust.

While admiring the buildings you will need to gather some details to help you locate the cache.
A equals the number of valleys in the roof of the larger of the two buildings.
B equals the number of letters in the second word of the name of the business using the larger building.
C equals the number of letters in the third word of the name of the business using the larger building.
D equals the last digit in the street number on the left hand door of the smaller building.
E equals the number of valleys in the roof of the smaller building.
F equals the number of doors in the front of the larger building.
G = A – 4
H = C + 1
I = B x 4
J = D + F - 4
K = E + 1
L = E + F - 6
The cache is a 1.2litre sistema container located a short walk away in some bush land at
S 37° 51.GHI' E 145° 06.JKL'
Access to the final location is only available from the north, the southern entry is locked! Either via the road to west or sports ground to the east
There is no need to leave the defined pathway to access the cache and as the area is a defined wetlands area (in need of some TLC!) please be careful not to disturb the vegetation and replace the the cache exactly as found
Finders please note that the area around GZ is not well maintained but the cache is still intact. Sorry the final location is not in better condition but I hope it will be repaired and improved by the local council, local "friends" group or the school next door sometime in the future, but nothing has happened in 15 years so I'm not holding my breath!
