Nachdem es um die Wasserkuppe einige Caches gibt wird es auch mal Zeit für einen Webcam-Cache.
An den angegebenen Koordinaten findet ihr euch gegenüber der "Shoppingmeile" wieder. Die Kamera befindet sich an der rechten oberen Ecke des Gebäudes.

Aktuell ist die Kamera zu jeder vollen Stunde aktiv.
Zur Not lümmelt man zum Stundenwechesel einfach mal vor der Kamera herum, es wird zu jeder vollen Stunde ein Bild gespeichert (nur für den aktuellen Tag !!!).
Allerdings geht das auch mal schief, die altbekannte Methode (jemand sitzt zu Hause am Rechner) ist daher besser.
Ihr seht mich in der Ausfahrt des Parkplatzes auf dem Motorrad sitzend.
Plaziert euch einfach unverwechselbar vor der Kamera.
Schaut bitte nach dem Wetter bevor ihr loszieht, manchmal herrscht hier der Nebel des Grauens ! Auch umgekehrt kann hier oben bestes Wetter sein während man im Tal in der Suppe sitzt.
Die Wasserkuppe ist mit ihren 950m Höhe DAS Paraglider- und Segelflugparadies schlechthin. Schon seit der Anfangszeit der Fliegerei spielte ihre einzigartige Lage eine tiefgreifende Rolle bei der Entwicklung und Erprobung von Segelflugzeugen (oder was man damals dafür hielt). Als nach dem zweiten Weltkrieg die Entwicklung von Motorflugzeugen untersagt war wurden auf der Wasserkuppe alle bis heute relevanten Entwicklungen für Segelflugzeuge gemacht.
Durch die einmalige Topographie mit ihren grossen Hängen und der optimalen "Lage im Wind" ist die Wasserkuppe der ideale Ausgangspunkt für Segelflieger oder Paraglider. Für Interessierte gibt es eine Flugschule (Segelflug, Gleitschirm).
Aber die Wasserkuppe bietet mehr. Hotel, Restaurant, Segelflugmuseum, Bewirtung für Wanderer und Besucher. Ein Spaziergang rund um die Wasserkuppe ist nur zu empfehlen, an klaren Tagen ist die Fernsicht beeindruckend und auch sonst ist die Aussicht alles andere als fad.
In den Sommermonaten werden die Besucher von zwei Rodelbahnen herausgefordert, im Winter lockt der Skilift. Und wem 950m noch nicht hoch genug sind kann sich die Rhön auch mit einem Rundflug von oben ansehen.
Auch als Zwischenstation ist die Wasserkuppe für Motorradfahrer ein beliebtes Ziel bei Touren durch die Rhön.

there are many traditional caches around the "Wasserkuppe", so it's time for a webcam-cache.
at the given coordinates you will find yourself opposite of the "shopping-mile".
the cam is located at the upper right corner of the building.

actually the cam ist active at every full hour.
the cam saves an hourly picture so you can place yourself in front of the camera and retrieve the pic at home (same day!).
but this is unreliable. the well known method (someone at home saves the picture) ist recommend!
on the picture you can see sitting on my motorcycle at the exit of the parking-lot.
just place yourself remarkable in front of the camera.
please check the weather conditions BEFORE you go to the "wasserkuppe". sometimes its very misty. otherwise there can be excellent weather uphill while you have terrible fog in the valley.
the "wasserkuppe" with hight 950m (3116ft) is THE paradise for paragilders and gilders. since the beginning of manned flight the unique location played a profundly role in development and testing gliders (or what people called so in the past).
after second world war, as development of motor-aircraft has been prohibited, all relevant development for gliders was made at "wasserkuppe".
due to the unique topography with extraordinary big hillsides and the excellent winds "wasserkuppe" is the perfect starting point for gilders and paragliders. of course there is an air-school for interested people (glider/paraglider).
but "wasserkuppe" has more! hotel, restaurant, glider-museum, service for traveler and visitors. a walk around the "wasserkuppe" is recommend. on clear air the sight is impressive, even the view around is very nice.
in summer visitors will be invited by two toboggan-runs, in winter there's an ski-run.
if you want climb higher than 950m (3116ft), look at the "rhoen" from above. do a sightseeing flight.
the "wasserkuppe" is also an well used stop for motor-bikers on a trip through the "rhoen"
