The Blackwater Valley Path is 23 miles long and runs from the
source of the River Blackwater, near Aldershot in the south,
northwards to Swallowfield in Berkshire and the confluence with the
rivers Whitewater and Loddon.
This path used to be in a quiet valley but now the busy A331
runs alongside the river and unfortunately, the traffic noise can
detract from the beauty of the river and the surrounding meadows
etc.
Coleford Bridge was probably an important factor in the
establishment of a settlement in Farnborough. Unfortunately, the
original brick bridge over the river was demolished when the A331
was constructed.
