Don't Do This Cache! Multi-cache

This cache has been archived.

FrioGeo: The time has come to put this puppy to bed. We enjoyed spending a winter in the woods putting it together, and really enjoyed hearing tales of the adventures that were had by the brave cachers that ignored the sound advice we offered at the top of the cache page.
It’ll take a couple of weeks to collect the game pieces, then we’ll start setting up a more conventional cache in the beautiful Roraback WMA. We’ll start that cache with the ending contents of this cache.
Congrats once again to all who completed the cache! Thanks for playing!

How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

This many-staged cache would take one or more very full days to do. You’d become familiar with way too much of the Roraback Wildlife Management Area, and be subjected to stashes that are unnecessarily hard to find. You don’t need the stress, so DON’T DO THIS CACHE!

Limited parking - N41°44.631', W73°02.547'

This may well be the hardest cache you’ve never done. There are long stretches of bushwacking, stream crossings that will test your acrobatic ability (you may not be able to do them at all after heavy rains), stashes that are way too well hidden, and – as a bonus – you may pick up a tick or two.

Hunting is permitted here, so wear your fluorescent orange, at least to start. After you’ve been at it several hours, getting shot may become an attractive alternative.

Clues are available in the vicinity of the stages. If you get stuck, email us… we’ll be happy to help, but you’ll have to excuse us if we mock you as we do. We told you, after all, not to do this cache ; )

The final stage is a 50 cal ammo can.

Nothing is stashed in old foundations or rock walls. No need to take them apart.

Snow friendly? It’s not friendly under any circumstances (has that not been made clear?), but the snow won’t make it any more hostile than it already is.

If you somehow complete the adventure on the same day you start it, you will end up reasonably close to your car. If you prefer to plan this as a multi-day event, bring along a geo-buddy and leave a second car at N41°43.828', W73°03.154'. This will save some backtracking between days.

As suggested, I'll list those who have completed the cache here. They deserve a little extra recognition for having subjected themselves to this cache for many hours in return for nothing more than a single notch on their geobelts.
Anyone considering doing this cache may wish to contact one of these cachers and have them talk you out of it.

NOTE - Due to the amount of maintenance this cache requires and the finite number of cachers that will attempt it, we plan to archive it in late spring of 2006. Come on if you're coming!
