This is the third in the MST (Mid-State Trail) series. Visit this cache for a great view of the Cove. The place for this cache was first discovered by Covehiker. The cache is a coffee can with a few small items to start it off.
This portion of the MST will take you through State Game Land roads to start. The trailhead can be reached by driving the access road located at; N40’ 14.215/ W078’ 17.434. At the bottom of the access road will be a gate and parking area, the trailhead starts at the gate. During hunting season be sure to wear blaze orange as this area is used by hunters often.
About half way into the hike you will make a right turn and begin climbing the mountain trail to the top. Be sure to wear comfortable supportive hiking shoes as you will be hiking on a rocky trail. Also, a good hiking stick or all terrain hiking pole is helpful for coming down. Be sure to bring a camera and binoculars as you will not want to miss the view on both sides. Look one direction and you can see clear beyond Blue Knob, look the other direction and you can see clear beyond Raystown Lake.
