Second in series of easy puzzle caches. Easy parking at the crossroads of two great trails and very short easy walk on paved trails. This is a busy trail area so stealth will be required most of the time.
A parking lot for the trails is at N 45 00.060 W 93 02.580 (on Clarence St.). Take the Gateway Trail west to the Maplewood (Bruce Vento) Trail.
At the posted coordinates find a sign. Use the number 7162897, minus the 7-digit phone number (without the area code) on the sign, as the seven digits for the North latitude.
A few feet south at N 44 59.960 W 93 02.660 find a sign for a Boy Scout Troop that helps maintain the trail. (Very close to the busy avenue -- be careful!)
Multiply the Troop number times the number of the fire station nearby. Add 509 to this result to get the three decimal digits of the West longitude, xxx in 93 02.xxx
Container is a 32 oz plastic tub covered with cammo tape. Lots of starting goodies and a log book.
Bring your bicycle, kick scooter, roller blades, or walking shoes, and enjoy the trails! The trails are sometimes very busy, so some stealth will be required.
If you'd like, continue walking north from here to Mplwd LRT Trail 3 (just over a mile) or Mplwd LRT Trail 1 (2 miles).
