The Bartlett Thirst Quencher Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Hoosier_Reviewer: Since there has been no response to my previous note, I am archiving the cache.

While we feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for you for a reasonable amount of time, we cannot do so indefinitely. In light of the lack of communication regarding this geocache, it has been archived to free up the area for new placements. You will not be able to unarchive this listing. If you haven’t done so already, please pick up this geocache or any remaining bits as soon as possible.

"If a geocache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance it will not be unarchived."

Geocache Description:

On the grounds of one of Hendricks County's older churches.
The recreation grounds are used for softball games, little league football practices, youth volleyball, and many other activities in the community.
You may find this one challenging but humorous.

Part of Hendricks County pioneer history, this congregaton was formed in 1860 and was part of the three-church circuit that included the Avon Methodist and Shiloh Methodist churches. (see the Indiana Spirit Quest #120 - Old Shiloh)

It's first meeting house was half a mile to the west. When the congregation relocated to this location in 1961, the old church building became the clubhouse for the Hendricks County Golf Course. The current building was built in 1961 and expanded in 1982. A new expanded sanctuary was finished in 2002.

===========================

This is my first cache hide, and I hope I didn't break any rules with this one. Cache is bigger than a film canister, but smaller than a bread box. Shape is unusual, but that is all I am going to say.

Others are often enjoying fun, fellowship or sports nearby, or quenching physical or spiritual thirst. Please use stealth when "muggles" are around.

In season, help yourself to a drink from the water fountain. Please be sure to turn off the freeze-proof faucet when through.

Contents when originally placed:
Log book and pencil, Coin purse, Cyprus Gardens coin, Hawaiian lei, pair of AA batteries (if yours have died).

Have a great hunt.

(I placed this cache while I was the pastor of Bartlett Chapel, which I served from 1998-2008. I moved to a new congregation in Knightstown in July 2008 and the to Washington in 2012, but this cache is still active.)
