I had planned out
most of a six or seven stage multi around
LakeWhitehall, but when I explored the area for
this stage I thought it deserved to stand on its
own.
UPDATE
1/16/06
: The previously referenced ‘ol stick
in the mud is currently not visible. The instructions below are
modified and accurate.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Park. Find
regulation #10 on the sign on the yellow gate. Multiply the number in
regulation #10 by 83.334. Subtract the result from
4490 to get NNNN.
Take the same result and add it to 3438 to get
WWWW. Proceed to
42 1N.NNN 71 3W.WWW.
The
cache site can be reached by land, sea, or frozen sea (ice
conditions are sometimes posted at the listed
coords). If you
chose to go by land, you can cross the dam and take the blue
trail (the longer route) or seek out another parking spot
that will get you within .37 miles of the cache. The cache is a plastic
peanut butter jar, so small trade items only
please.
Lake
Whitehall State Park’s blue trail can be taken completely around
the lake. For this
cache, the trail can take you close to 1 or 2 backyards of nearby
residents, but does not go through any and is well
marked. More info about
the lake and its trails can be found at http://www.lakewhitehall.org/index.cfm
