Located on top of "Hill 582" between BNSF tracks
Main #2 and Main #3. You can drive directly to the
cache.
DO NOT LEAVE TB's IN THE CACHE
You are looking for a metal box bolted to a tree
stump, not camouflaged and not hidden! The cache is located a top
the famous "Hill 582", so named for milepost marker 58.2 on the
BNSF Main #1 & #2 track. The hill is a tribute to lost railroad
workers from the area and rail enthusiasts. This area has been
maintained by local railfans and includes trees and plants that
would not normally survive in the area with out some help from
everyone. This cache is one for railfans and geocachers or other
people who happen upon this spot, there is a log in it, some
interesting reading.
This is a great spot for a picnic, train watching or some kite
flying! There's a bench as well as trash cans, please use them and
don't litter.
You can get directly to the hill top, when entering off of Hwy.138
and you get to the first set of tracks, cross the tracks and drive
about 1/3 of a mile to the west along the tracks then take the
cut-off to the north, stay north/northeast, this will lead you to
the hill, this is the only access unless you walk to the area.
Either way DO NOT park or stay on the BNSF or UP
right-of-way!
I would not attempt this cache during the rain or shortly there
after.
