The Old Mill Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

cerberus1: "O" beat me to it...
I was just down here (again...) today, and as much as I'd like to hold on to this spot, Mill maintenance still won't be done for some time.
"Pushing everything over" to make room left the picnic tables a couple feet from GZ.
Rather than creating a maintenance issue each time found (muggle city...) I'm archiving this one.
Thanks to Hamilton Twp. for letting us play here, and thanks to all who gave us kind words in their logs.

Geocache Description:

Brinker's mill, now called "The Old Mill", dates back to the early 1700's.

This working mill, with it's "overshot" waterwheel, was a sophisticated operation for it's time.

It produced various types of flour and livestock feed.

The mill dam is still intact and water-flow is strong enough to still run it.

In 1779, the mill served as a storehouse and advance for the Sullivan expedition.

Open houses are sporadic. Info. is usually posted on bulletin board.

Ivan hit this area pretty hard,as all near water, but renovations are almost complete.

Lower section is one of my favorite fly-fishing areas!

Note: The micro is NOT on/in the mill.

Picnic tables have been added to this quiet little park, so sometimes it can be busy right near GZ.

Rite-in Rain strip. Can be signed when damp...

Thanks to Hamilton Twsp. Supervisors for placement.
