Evergreen Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Haggis Hunter: This cache has indeed gone, unless someone has moved it to a better hiding place? It wouldn't be the first time this has happened!
This was originaly placed so that people going to the Ratho event had a cache close by to bag. Last year the path was a pleasant stroll, it is now overgrown and not enjoyable at all.
So I have decided to archive this, rather than ask people to walk a couple of hundred metres through nettles.

Geocache Description:

This cache has been placed to coincide with the Scottish Geocacher Day Out – Ratho Park. It will be left in place after the event.

You have to enter through the main gates of the Dalmahoy Hotel, you won’t actually be going onto the hotel property, and you will be on an old public path, which disappears once it goes into the woods, you won’t be going that far though.

Suggested parking is at the Public House at N55° 54.549 W003° 22.132, if you choose this option for parking, please take care whilst crossing the road, as this is a busy main road with a speed limit of 50 mph. I don’t think I need to tell you how fast people may be going.

Once you go through the main gates you will be looking for a path between the house and bridge, this is a grassed track and is firm under foot, although I wouldn’t recommend it for buggy’s it is suitable for young children who can walk.

Have fun.

Travel Bugs are the property of the person who has released them. Therefore I do not count them as a swap item.
Please DO NOT take an item in exchange for any Travel Bugs that you may wish to leave in this cache.

If you are new to Geocaching or don't know the area, then have a look at my bookmark lists for Edinburgh, you may find them helpful.
