Geocache Description:

This multi-stage cache will take you back in time to a place known as the Bee Head Ranch where honey bees and livestock were once a common sight. Now it's mostly oak hammocks and pine forests, but if you look hard enough you might find the remains of old cracker houses, artesian wells, horse corrals and cattle dipping vats.

In fact, according to a land survey done in 1917, there's an old time capsule hidden somewhere on the property. To find it, you must vector in on it from two survey markers located at coordinates:

1) N28° 29.723 W80° 56.410

2) N28° 29.563 W80° 56.376

If you were to walk in a straight line from the first marker heading 124 degrees(or 53 degrees from the second mark), you would eventually run into the time capsule. Don't try to bushwhack your way to the site. There are number of trails and old roads that can lead you to where the cache is hidden.

The capsule is approximately 11x7x6 inches. It consists of memorabilia from the early 1900s, historic literature, old maps and a number of other knick-knacks. There's even directions to a bonus cache inside the log book. If you find it, you more than welcome to keep it. No trading is necessary.

Good luck and have a great time geocaching.

Note: This cache is hidden inside the Tosohatchee Wildlife Management Area. Please use caution, as this area is periodically used for hunting. Also some of the roads may be closed due to flooding or sandy conditions. For a report on current conditions, please contact the rmain office at (407) 568-5893. For hunting days, see the on-line calendar at http://myfwc.com/viewing/recreation/wmas/lead/tosohatchee/when-to-visit.

The entrance to the reserve is located off of Taylor Creek Road near Christmas at coordinates N28° 29.871 W80° 59.914. It's open to the public all year long from 8 A.M. until sundown. A $3.00 entrance fee is required per vehicle.
