This Cache is in the “Jardins do Palácio de Cristal”, one of the
most beautiful gardens of Oporto
The original Crystal Palace (Palácio de Cristal) was a beautiful
building, made of concrete, iron and glass, built at 1860 for the
International Show of 1865, it was big enough to receive 10.000
persons at a time.
Unfortunately this amazing building was destroyed in 1951 and in
his place was build the actual dome shaped building, this is a huge
one also. And is used for exhibitions and sport tournaments.
People of Oporto give it the name of his beloved marathon female
athlet Rosa Mota.
The Crystal Palace gardens are dated from the middle of the 19th
century, the romantic style, the magnificent views, the woods, the
amazing gardens with thousands of different species of flowers and
trees (some very exotic), the lakes, the animals, the monuments
made the Crystal Palace gardens the most beautiful ones of Oporto.
Take some time to visit this park you will enjoy every moment.
The cache is at the gardens, inside a hole, YOU DON’T NEED TO
REMOVE ANY STONE TO REACH IT, so please be careful, discrete and
don’t damage the gardens.
