Geocache Description:

A beautiful shady hike appropriately named Woodland Trail. There are a few choices in approaching this one. You can either access the trail from the lower larger trail or at a couple of upper locations off the service road below our Inspiration Point cache, which is what we did and so it was an easy downhill hike.

Alum Park is open all year. Hours are 8:00 a.m. until one-half hour after sunset. $6 parking fees are collected on weekends and holidays, and daily from mid-June through Labor Day (free if parking just at the main entrance and hiking in.) Pets are not permitted in the park.

Cache is a small Tupperware snack container with only a log and room for smallish trinkets so bring your own pen. It is easily located a few feet off the trail. Reception could be spotty because of tree cover but we had no problems when we placed it so it may not be a problem after all. Lots of leaves here so please try to hide your trail when leaving to avoid the creation of the obvious cacher trail!
