B&S Letterbox #1 Letterbox Hybrid

Balla & Silly: Wir waren 3 Wochen in Urlaub und mussten dieses Wochenende aus persönlichen Gründen nach McPomm. Nächstes WE wollte ich eigentlich diesen Cache wieder ersetzen.
Bisher gingen uns SBA-Logs durch Pseudo-Accounts, deren Inhaber einfach zu feige sind, unter ihrem richtigen Account zu loggen, sonstwo vorbei.
Ist ja nicht der erste Hausmeister-Account mit schlechter Rechtschreibung und Geltungsdrang, der in Berlin rummosert und Caches archivieren will.
Inzwischen vergeht uns auch durch solche Aktionen immer mehr die Lust, unsere Berliner Caches noch weiterhin aufrecht zu erhalten.
Danke, dass uns hier also jetzt die Entscheidung zur Archivierung abgenommen wurde...

Geocache Description:


Die oben angegebenen Koordinaten beziehen sich auf den U-Bhf. Ruhleben. Für die Suche dieses Caches braucht ihr kein GPS, höchstens einen Kompass. Ansonsten lässt sich der Cache allein anhand der Hinweise und Spoilerbilder finden.

Verlasst den U-Bhf. Ruhleben in südlicher Richtung, überquert die Straße (Hempelsteig) und schlagt den Waldweg in südöstlicher Richtung (156°) ein. Nach ca. 230-240 m kreuzt ihr den Murellenweg. Dahinter liegt der zum Naturdenkmal erklärte Murellenteich, der bis 1935 als Militärbadeanstalt genutzt wurde. Das photo #1 zeigt Badende zur damaligen Zeit und im Hintergrund erkennt man einen langen Badesteg und sogar einen Sprungturm. Das ist alles nicht mehr vorhanden. Lediglich Reste des steinernen Sprungturmfundaments sind bis heute erhalten (s. photo #2). Wenn du um den Teich wanderst, kannst du sie kaum verfehlen. Gehe von dort ca. 50 Schritte Richtung Osten und folge dann dem steil ansteigenden Weg auf der rechten Seite bis zum Ende. Hier wähle den oberen Weg nach links. Nach ca. 100 m siehst du auf der linken Seite abwärts einen Weg, an dem ein Trafohäuschen steht. Hinter diesem kleinen Gebäude findest du den Cache unter einem umgestürzten Baum. (Bitte nach dem Loggen wieder gut tarnen!)

Bei diesem Cache handelt es sich um einen Letterbox Hybrid, also eine Mischung aus Cache und Letterbox. Er besteht aus einer Tupperdose mit folgendem Inhalt:
Stempel, Stempelkissen, Logbuch (oder Stempelbuch), Kuli, Bleistift, Spitzer, GC-Hinweise (bleibt alles im Cache!) sowie eine Erstfinderurkunde, TB „World Star 1“ und zum Tauschen 10 Naturpostkarten, 2 Nivea Deotücher und einige Cremeproben.
Wenn du ein eigenes Stempelbuch hast, kannst du deinen Besuch also mit unserem Stempel aus dem Cache dokumentieren. Wir möchten dich bitten, im Logbuch neben einer kurzen Notiz mit Namen und Datum auch einen eigenen Stempelabdruck oder einen eigenen Aufkleber zu hinterlassen. Solltest du beides nicht besitzen, reicht zur Not auch ein Fingerabdruck. ;-)

The coordinates given above are related to the underground station U-Bhf. Ruhleben. For the hunt of this cache you don’t need GPS, just a compass would be useful. Otherwise the cache should be found by the clues and the spoiler photos.

Leave the U-Bhf. Ruhleben southwards, cross the road (Hempelsteig) and follow the forest track in direction southeast (156°). After approx. 230-240 m you will cross the road Murellenweg. Behind it you will find a pond called “Murellenteich” which is a natural monument and has been used as a military bath until 1935. The photo #1 shows people bathing at them times and you can see a long footbridge in the background and even a diving platform. That’s all gone. Only some remains of the stone foundation of that diving platform are still there. (see photo #2). When you walk around the pond you can hardly miss it. Go from there approx. 50 steps direction east and then follow the steeply rising path rightwards to the end. Here you choose the upper way to the left. After approx. 100 m you will see a little transformer station at the path leading down to the left. Behind this small building you will find the cache underneath a fallen tree. (Please camouflage it well again after you left your log entry!)

This cache is a Letterbox Hybrid which means it is a cache and also a letterbox. It comprises a tupperware box with the following content:
stamp, stamp pad, logbook (or stamp book), pen, pencil, sharpener, GC informations (all this has to stay in the cache!) and a FTF-document, TB “World Star 1” and for trading 10 nature postcards, 2 Nivea deo towelettes and some vanishing creme samples.
If you bring your own stamp book you can document your visit with our stamp from the cache. Beside a short note with your name and date we would like to ask you to leave a print of your own stamp or a personal sticker. If you have neither of them a fingerprint would do as well. ;-)
