Geocache Description:

The Living Desert Reserve is nestled amongst the Barrier Ranges and is located 9 km from the City of Broken Hill. The Living Desert is a unique 2400ha reserve which commenced in 1992.

IMPORTANT:- We have been kindly informed that the entrance fee is now $6 per person and only payable by card swipe or coins.
We do not advocate caches in commercial areas but as this money goes to upkeep on this fascinating site so we will leave the cache and let each team decide.

The above co ordinates are for the Sculptures only.
If you have the
extra time to spare a 2 ½ hour visit to the Living Desert from the City (return trip) will allow visitors to explore the Cultural Walk Trail within the Sanctuary and Sculpture Symposium. and gain an educational and cultural experience to further enhance your understanding of our Aboriginal Heritage and importance of the preservation of our environment for the benefit of future generations. Another interesting fact is the arrangement of stones is a double colonnade which defines a special flow from the Pinnacle Mountains to Fred Hollow's resting place at Bourke and provides one of the most spectacular views in the area.

If you do not have this amount of time you can go directly to the above co ordinates and then be on your way. There is a gate at the bottom of a steep up hill walk to get to GZ and those who do not like walking especially if it is hot can contact the number below and organize to get a key to the gate.
