Segundo a história ou lenda esta
mulher, que era grande, forte e feia, com seis dedos em cada mão,
enfrentou sete castelhanos que, após a Batalha de Aljubarrota,
procuravam comida nesta povoação.
Atraiu-os à sua padaria, e onde
pensavam encontrar pão encontraram ... a morte. A arma terá sido a
pá do forno.
O seu feito foi
lembrado ao longo dos séculos e constituí um símbolo da resistência
aos invasores castelhanos.

She attracted them to her bakery, where they found not bread, but
