LOCATED JUST PAST THE CAVES IN ST MARTINS ON THE WAY TO THE FUNDY TRAIL.
“The Black Gate is Closed” but park in front of it at N45 21.649’ W065 31.396’. Hike down the dirt road. As you near the coast you will be taking a trail to the left. Approx. 250’ in there is a Spruce tree on your left with large burls all over it (see photo). Approx. 50’ past this is a smaller trail or footpath to the right. I would highly recommend taking this trail, as it follows the coast and provides some spectacular vistas. You can continue straight on the trail instead, but it is less scenic. As you near the cache area there is a wide rock ledge that runs along the top of the cliffs above the bay if you are feeling adventurous. The hike in is approx .64 mi by the recommended route.
The vegetation near the cache is quite dense; I would recommend going about 115' past the cache location, there you will find a clear path leading out to the edge from the main footpath. You can then easily backtrack to the cache.
The cache is a small camo'd PB jar with the necessary cache items but no room for traders. Coins and SMALL TB's will fit. Please make sure the lid is replaced tightly.
